I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. Drawing is an important part of my work, it is part of my life, a commentary on events, a record (reflection or interpretation) of experiences and emotions. Drawing compositions, often transferred to canvas, are personal, sometimes very intimate portrayals of the passage of time recorded on sheets of paper. Drawing is of particular importance to me also because it is not determined by practical goals, such as artistic or commercial success. So why am I doing this, why am I drawing? I think that one of the reasons is curiosity — I like to observe, look at and record images of the world, inexhaustible in its diversity, images of people, their characters, bodies and behaviour, what is external and internal. As a spectator in the constant Theatrum Mundi, I experience a sense of wonder and terror, and these are the most important sources of creativity for me.
